There are three of us behind the scenes:
Close friends and chosen family of staggered years who really wanted to understand what an Earth based life would feel like - and, perhaps more importantly, what it would nourish inside of us. So we started this experiment together: live the Wheel, celebrate the meaning of each Sabbat, make it our own direct exploration, and share the experience.
And that is what this planner is: an offering of our shared experience. We are not historical experts, nor have we tried to be. Our hope is that this may help you awaken to your own Earth centric life.
We three have some things in common. First and foremost, an unyielding curiosity about life and a wicked sense of humor. Each of us studied and practiced different wisdoms about the Earth. Each of us studied under the authority of someone else who directed our experiences and practices. Each of us wanted something more.
What we learned:
There is an important thread that our modern world drowns out: the Earth is wise; the Earth is alive; we are all a part of Earth Rhythms. Living in deep connection with the Earth and all her sacred beings is a personal affair. After two years of dedicated practice and exploration in living Earth-aware together, the three of us found unexpected connection, meaning, and peace in our daily lives. We found our own personal Sovereignty. This mantra rang true: I am my own authority and the Earth is happy to lead me.
Anxiety calmed. To-do lists lost power. Influencers faded. Time slowed. Seasons and the changing light became awe and magic. We stood inside the circle of life, not outside it.
Looking to the future:
The Call to return to our divine connection to nature and this incredibly beautiful and generous planet has never been more profound. We are at a crossroads: destroy her in order to feed the insatiable need for more, or reconnect to her and tend to her so that she thrives - and we all thrive. Trees communicate and take care of each other. Plants make sounds we can not hear. Animals mourn and celebrate. Nature responds to how we treat her.
